Actor Richard Roundtree recently passed away on October 24, 2023, at the age of 81. He was suffering from pancreatic cancer for a long time which led to his demise, as per Deadline. His manager, Patrick McMinn, revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he was at his house in Los Angeles.

Roundtree was known for his appearance as John Shaft in the crime action thriller film Shaft, which was released in 1971. He earned a lot from his successful career and his net worth was $2 million, as per CelebrityNetWorth.

Actress Tia Mowry shared that Richard left a huge impact on her life, in a Facebook post. She added:

"I am forever grateful for your warm energy, your light, you heart, and your incredible wisdom. I will miss you and our times together in our trailers – you teaching me the right way to take down some whiskey. I love you. Thank you for blessing this world with your gifts."

Actress Holly Robinson Peete also wrote that Roundtree was a "wonderful man." Holly further stated:

"He never acted like an icon but I have him his flowers every chance I got. He was so versatile- Drama, Comedy- all of it. Every time I saw him he would say "Good Golly Miss Holly!" Loved that. Oh man, will he be missed."
