The Ultimatum: Queer Love is set to air this week. The upcoming series, which is a spin-off of Netflix’s The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, will feature five couples as they figure out whether they want to leave the show married to their partners or if they’re more compatible with someone else.

"For these queer couples, marriage is an absolute dealbreaker. One partner is ready to walk down the aisle, while the other is dragging their feet. So to decide whether to marry or move on for good, one half issues an ultimatum, kicking off a potentially relationship-shattering experiment."

Meet the couples ahead of their appearance on The Ultimatum: Queer Love

The Ultimatum: Queer Love, the spinoff of The Ultimatum, will follow the journey of five couples consisting of women and non-binary people as they spend eight weeks choosing someone besides their current partner to date based on the criteria of “long-term compatibility, attraction” and the “unquantifiable sensation known as vibes,” according to Netflix’s Tudum.

Lexi and Raelyn

Lexi’s pronouns are she/her, and she is 25 years old. She is ready to spend the rest of her life with Raelyn, and she has given her girlfriend an ultimatum. The two met on Bumble three years ago and have been inseparable ever since. Raelyn (she/her) is 27 years old and has a tendency to overanalyze things, which is why she isn’t ready to commit just yet.

Yoly and Mal

Yoly is 34 years old and prefers the pronouns she/her, while her partner, Mal, is 36 years old and prefers she/her/they pronouns. The two were friends before they started dating, and they have been together for the past three years. While Yoly wants Mal to choose her, Mal wants the couple to be in better financial condition before they decide to be together for the rest of their lives and potentially start a family together.

Tiff and Mildred

Mildred is 33 years old and prefers she/her pronouns, while Tiff is 32, and their preferred pronouns are they/them. The two met on social media when Tiff slid into her DMs, and Mildred believes that she deserves to be happy, and a ring from Tiff would be just that.

While she is ready to take the next step, Tiff wants to resolve their communication issues and constant fights before making a commitment. They're on the Netflix show to make a decision.

Vanessa and Zander

Xander is 30 years old and prefers the pronouns she/her/they and their partner Vanessa is also 30, and prefers the pronouns she/her. In high school, their boyfriends were best friends; however, once they both came out and reconnected years later, they realized that they were meant to be together.

They have been dating for four years, and Xander wants them to take the next step, but Vanessa is afraid of losing “her sense of freedom,” which is why they're on The Ultimatum: Queer Love.

Aussie and Sam

Sam is 31 years old and prefers to use she/her pronouns, while Aussie, who is 42 years old, prefers “Aussie” as a pronoun. They first met online in a social group for queer people during the pandemic and have been together for one and a half years. While Sam is ready to make the commitment, Aussie wants them to live together before making such a huge commitment.
