Game of Thrones is an American Fantasy-Drama television series created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. The series is based on George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels, A Song of Ice and Fire.

Game of Thrones is a show about different stories that take place on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos. The series begins when House Stark, led by Lord Eddard "Ned" Stark, is drawn into schemes surrounding King Robert Baratheon. Played by Mark Addy, King Robert is married to Queen Cersei Lannister, played by Lena Headed.

The Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms is at the center of political conflicts between noble families who are fighting for independence or who are trying to claim the throne. Another plot line focuses on the last descendant of the kingdom's former ruling family, who has been sent to Essos and is planning to come back and take the throne. The third story is about the Nights Watch, a group of soldiers who protect Westeros from things beyond its northern border.
