Drake opens up on "culture vulture" narrative against him in latest Bobbi Althoff interview

Drake has been making headlines by constantly teasing and dropping tracks from his upcoming album, ICEMAN, in a unique fashion, with his back-to-back shows, and recently by burying the hatchet with Bobbi Altoff.

Things were tense between Drizzy and Bobbi since his appearance on her show, The Really Good Podcast, in July 2023. Within a month of the episode's release, the rapper and the influencer unfollowed each other, and Bobbi also took down the episode featuring Drizzy.

The two reunited for an interview, which premiered on September 2, 2025, where they took digs at each other, and Drake also opened up about the narrative of being a "culture vulture." For the unversed, a culture vulture refers to someone from outside the culture who exploits certain elements of hip-hop for gain without understanding the importance of the music, language, or fashion of the culture.

While discussing his fallout with Bobbi Althoff, Drake expressed that he experiences situations where he isn't necessarily a part of the problem. He opened up on experiencing guilt-trips because people blame him for things, while his intentions are pure. Comparing the same to the situation in the music industry, the One Dance rapper said:

"People will be like, ‘Oh, you’re a culture vulture,’ or people will describe the collaborative efforts that I’ve put forth, and the artists that I’ve picked up and lifted up or shined a light on as me taking, you know? They’ll put a negative spin on it and try and tell me that it’s a self-serving thing or whatever, and I think I get really sensitive about that."

Drizzy added that in moments like the ones he described, he feels "extremely short" and gets snappy. Additionally, Drake also commented on the narrative of not being compliant with the mainstream media, which changed after TikTok and streaming came into play.

Reflecting on the same, Drizzy gave himself and Bobbi Althoff the credit of ushering in the idea of artists collaborating with streamers and influencers, who are from "two completely different walks of life." Talking about his previous interview with Bobbi, the rapper added:

"Celebrities are not here, the goal is not to be some unattainable d*ckhead for your whole life, you know, and only sit with Zane Lowe while he like asks you the most curated and formal questions. No disrespect to him, but I think we did something that was special. And I was proud of what we did."

In other news, Drake has not yet announced the release date of his highly anticipated ICEMAN album. However, the rapper has dropped What Did I Miss? and Which One, in addition to the latest track featuring Cash Cobain and Yeat.
