On August 29, 2025, DJ Akademiks posted a video of 6ix9ine questioning why fellow rappers 21 Savage, Future, and Lil Baby remained silent in the interrogation video. 6ix9ine stated that he waited to see how the situation unfolded and remained silent for two days after the video was leaked.

Commenting on how he thought Thug was at fault when he could've called his attorney at the time of questioning instead of answering the detective, 6ix9ine said:

"You spoke for two hours. Two hours. It's me beating a horse. Like I'm no saying that, ya'll heard what ya'll heard. Where's all the energy at? Why is everybody quiet? Why Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Future, why they not saying nothing?"

Additionally, 6ix9ine questioned when his fellow rappers were releasing tracks, calling Thug a "rat". The rapper emphasized the lack of energy from the rap community on the matter, asking if artists were waiting for the interrogation video to blow over and hoping for people to forget about it.

More details about Young Thug's leaked interrogation video explored amid 6ix9ine's explosive reaction

In the leaked interrogation video, a man who is speculated to be Young Thug was questioned concerning multiple reported crimes that his YSL associates were allegedly a part of. One of the statements that stood out in the almost 2-hour-long clip is the man commenting on YSL rapper Peewee Roscoe, who was blamed for shooting at Lil Wayne's tour bus in 2015.

Admitting that he isn't aware of who shot at Lil Wayne's tour bus, Thug mentioned that Roscoe's name was associated with the same, and he didn't "wanna block out y’all’s case by saying Roscoe ain’t do that."

Shortly after the clip went viral, Thug began receiving backlash for ratting out on a YSL associate. This resulted in the Trance rapper setting the record straight against snitching allegations via X on August 27, 2025, wherein he wrote in a now-deleted tweet:

Young Thug emphasized not being a snitch, given that he has expressed his discontent against such people via his general statements and rap lyrics in the past. In another tweet dated August 28, 2025, the rapper asked people to stop trying to make him "one of those boys," adding "death before dishonor this way, kids."

Moreover, Peewee Roscoe also spoke out in Young Thug's support by posting a video where he dubbed the YSL rapper "clean as Listerine" and "clean as ivory soap." Stating that he had already done prison time, Roscoe said:

"When you go into the interrogation room, that’s what you do. “He did what a real street n***a [was supposed to do].”

Young Thug was arrested in May 2022 on charges concerning Georgia's RICO Act. He was released from prison in October 2024 after accepting a plea deal, after spending over 900 days in custody.
