A time-limit draw protects both performers if that is the intent.

One big thing that AEW will do differently than some companies like WWE is adhering to time limits. The time left in the match was announced during every match at Fyter Fest. Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin also battled to a time-limit draw at the event.

If AEW wants to keep both men looking strong, then having the two men go at it for 20 minutes without a clear winner would do that. Omega still is looking for his first win as a singles competitor whereas CIMA looks great by taking one of the best wrestlers in the world to the limit.

I'm not saying that AEW should use draws as an out at every event, but they should use them when neither of the two wrestlers in a match should lose. Omega can probably recover from losing a match better than CIMA could, but AEW looks invested in keeping the majority of their Superstars looking good in their matches. A time-limit draw achieves that for Omega and CIMA at Fight for the Fallen.
