What's the story?

In a recent media conference call, Impact Wrestling vice presidents Scott D'Amore and Don Callis spoke about a host of topics related to Impact Wrestling, including the rumors of former WWE World Champion Rey Mysterio signing with the company.

In case you didn't know...

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion has been recently linked with a probable move to Impact Wrestling. It was in 2015 when Rey Mysterio was last seen in a WWE ring and ever since departing from the company, the masked luchador has been wrestling for top Mexican promotions such as Lucha Underground, Crash Wrestling, and Lucha Libre AAA.

The former WWE Champion has also won championships around the world, with various promotions and is also a former DDT Heavymetalweight Champion and WCW Cruiserweight Champion as well.

The heart of the matter

Earlier today, during Impact's media conference call Don Callis decided to address the reports of Rey Mysterio signing with Impact Wrestling. Callis stated that he has read a lot of rumors about Mysterio possibly singing with the WWE but says that he does not put a lot of stock into rumors. The Impact Vice-president also said that wrestling fans look at who they like to see which is something totally understandable to Callis.

Additionally, the NJPW color commentator stated that Impact will host a live pay-per-view in April and the announcement will be made very shortly. Callis also believes that it is time for Impact Wrestling to show people what they're all about.

What's next?

Both Don Callis and Scott D'Amore seem like two determined Vice-presidents and their current goal is to change the current landscape of Impact Wrestling. Earlier this week, Impact also announced the signing of many big names from the wrestling world including Austin Aries, who already captured the Impact World Heavyweight Championship for the second time in his career, upon his return to the promotion. Meanwhile, former Lucha Underground Gift of Gods Champion Brian Cage also made his debut for Impact this week. Fans will now have to wait for a further update regarding the Rey Mysterio story.

Author's Take

Impact Wrestling has had their fair share of ups and downs but it looks like the company might just be heading towards the right direction once again, and if they do manage to land Rey Mysterio then the landscape will surely be changed.
