What’s the story?

Impact Wrestling’s newest signee Tessa Blanchard recently took part in an interview with ImpactWrestling.com and during the conversation, Blanchard made a bold statement stating that she’s the hottest free agent in the world of pro wrestling today.

In case you didn’t know…

Throughout her entire pro wrestling career, Tessa Blanchard has been considered as one of the hardest working performers on the Independent circuit, where the 22-year-old has been performing for notable Indy promotions such as WrestleCircus, Shine Wrestling, and Shimmer Women’s Athletes.

In 2017, Tessa Blanchard also worked for the WWE as part of the company’s inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament where she was eliminated in the first round by eventual winner Kairi Sane.

The heart of the matter

During the recently concluded Impact Wrestling: Redemption pay-per-view, Tessa Blanchard made her debut for the promotion when she decided to provide commentary during a match between Kiera Hogan and Taya Valkyrie, eventually establishing herself as a heel in the process.

Blanchard, who is now likely to compete under the Impact Wrestling banner for the time-being, recently told company officials that the initial reason on why she decided to join the Knockouts Division is because Blanchard seemingly believes in the fact that she’s indeed the hottest free agent in today’s Pro Wrestling industry.

“I came to the Knockouts Division because it’s no secret that the past six months or so IMPACT’s been making strides. The hottest free agents out there – Pentagon, Fenix, Brian Cage – IMPACT has locked them down. When it comes to the Knockouts Division, I’m the hottest free agent out there right now!”

Additionally, Tessa also stated that having earned an immense amount of success in the Indies, she apparently feels like she deserves a shot at the Knockouts Championship ahead of every other Knockout on the Impact roster.

“I’m not looking to work my way up. I feel like I deserve a shot at the Knockouts Championship. On the independent circuit, I’ve traveled the world, I’ve won championships, I’ve won tournaments – I’ve defeated some of the best out there so I feel like I am one of the best.”

What’s next?

Now that Tessa Blanchard has finally made her Impact Wrestling debut, expect her to achieve new heights as part of the promotion, where she could very well be the next Knockouts Champion as well.

Author’s take

Tessa Blanchard is certainly one of my favorite wrestlers in today’s business and seeing her make it to the Impact Zone is truly an astonishing achievement. Personally, I feel Tessa will achieve big things for herself in the future.
