What's the story?

The late Eddie Guerrero's daughter was once an in-ring competitor for the WWE's developmental brand NXT. However, she left WWE, and the wrestling world altogether, in 2014. Now, Shaul Guerrero has just announced her return to the wrestling business with a tweet stating that she is taking bookings to be a valet or ring announcer/host for independent promotions.

In case you didn't know...

Shaul Guerrero made her in-ring debut for the WWE's developmental territory FCW in 2010, under the ring-name Raquel Diaz. Whilst in FCW, Guerrero became the longest reigning FCW Divas Champion, holding the title for 197 days. She was also the last person to win the Queen of FCW Crown, before it was deactivated as a championship.

Diaz remained with FCW when it was rebranded as NXT and made her NXT debut in 2012, with the gimmick of an 'Ultra Diva' in which she claimed she was on an 'exfoliating ugliness' tour and would draw 'L's on the foreheads of other Divas after defeating them.

There was some confusion as to when, and why Diaz left the WWE, although the former Superstar herself claims that her departure from the company was caused by problems relating to an eating disorder.

The heart of the matter

After three years out from the pro wrestling business it seems that Shaul Guerrero, who managed Rusev way before Lana ever did, and was also a part of the Ascension, may have taken the time off she needed and is now making a return.

At this time it doesn't look like a return to the company that made her father a legend is on the cards, with her advertising for independent promotions. And it doesn't look like she is going to return to in-ring action, asking for bookings as a valet or host/ring announcer only.

What's next?

We'll have to wait and see what happens in the career of Shaul Guerrero and keep her fingers crossed that one day she might return to the WWE, where her husband Aiden English currently plies his trade (ironically as a valet type role for Rusev) and where arguably any Guerrero in the wrestling business belongs.

Author's take

I wish Guerrero all the luck in the world as she makes her wrestling return, and I'm sure wrestling fans all around the world will join me. I also have my finger's crossed she gets booked for some shows in the UK.
