What's the story?

About a month ago, top independent wrestler Fenix let his fans know that he would be unable to fulfill his commitments for the rest of 2018 due to suffering a groin injury. A report from PWInsider states that Fenix will return from injury shortly.

In case you didn't know...

Fenix had been setting the world on fire as a member of the Lucha Underground and AAA rosters over the last four years. He's also been active on the independent scene across the United States. He currently holds the Major League Wrestling Tag Team titles with his brother, Pentagon Jr.

Earlier in 2018, he and his brother, Pentagon Jr. made their Impact Wrestling debuts. They have quickly become two of the top performers in the company and are set to challenge LAX for the Impact Tag Team Championships at Homecoming on January 5, 2019.

But before the last set of Impact tapings in 2018, Fenix must have suffered his groin injury. Once he got hurt, he was forced to pull out of previous shows for which he had been booked.

He was remorseful for having to do so but vowed to come back. He's one of the best performers in the world of professional wrestling.

The heart of the matter

The report from PWInsider mentions that there is no timetable for his return but it will be 'shortly'.

It also mentioned that with only two weeks left in 2018, fans will have to probably wait until 2019 to see one of the best luchadors/wrestlers in the world return to action.

What's next?

If you haven't seen Fenix yet, you must catch up right away! He's a bigger version of Rey Mysterio but takes many more risks on the ropes and with his move set.

Fenix has held a lot more gold in his career than just this belt.

He's a great brawler, technical wrestler and high-flyer. He's truly one of the best wrestlers in the world not under the banner of WWE.

It was reported earlier this fall that both he and Pentagon Jr. were both WWE-bound once they noted on their social media accounts that they wouldn't be taking any more bookings in 2019.

Things have changed since then, however, as a clause in their contracts with Lucha Underground will likely keep the Lucha Brothers out of WWE for the foreseeable future.

One thing is certain from this news: the world of wrestling is only better with Fenix in it. He's the type of wrestler who would help excite any fan base on any show in any promotion.

Him signing with WWE would certainly help turn things around in the ratings.
