Impact Wrestling Rumors: Impact close in on 2 more signings

Could another for
Could another former WWE Champion be heading to TNA?

What's the story?

Impact Wrestling is looking to make some big moves soon. According to Squaredcirclesirens.com, Impact Wrestling continues to contact with Rey Mysterio, and are close to signing Su Yung, the wife of WWE Superstar and former Cruiserweight Champion, Rich Swann.

In case you didn't know...

Impact had what some might consider a rough 2017. While they've had some hard times, between losing the Broken Hardys, the lawsuit that followed, the El Patron situation and a handful of stars who would leave the company during vital points in various story lines, they seem to be turning things around.

With the sudden signings of big names like Johnny Impact, Taya Valkerie and Jimmy Jacobs, things seem to be looking up for Impact. As they move forward, their goal continues to be to sign talents looking to make a name for themselves outside of the WWE. Most recently, TNA acquired Sami Callihan, who has made a huge impact diving headfirst into a storyline with LAX.

The heart of the matter

Impact continue to stay in contact with Rey Mysterio. The world class luchador would mean big things for Impact, even if he's not at 100%. However, nothing has been confirmed yet, and the two parties are still working out details.

Impact are also looking to sign independent wrestler Su Yung, who many may know as the wife of Rich Swann. Yung and Swann recently made head lines as they were involved in a domestic altercation that ended with Swann in handcuffs.

What's Next?

Impact seems to be at the beginning of an upswing in terms of their roster. While they've lost the likes of the Hardys, Low Ki and Gail Kim, they've managed to keep fans hopeful with their signings in the last six months. They'll continue to work on signing Mysterio, in what could be a huge momentum swing for the company.

Author's Take

Mysterio, should Impact land him, will mean big things for them. Not only is he a former world champion. The Master of the 619 has been doing great things in other promotions like Lucha Underground, and continues to prove that he's not done just yet.

As far as Su Yung, the possible signing of her seems like strange timing. To work with her so quickly after the problems she had with Swann a little while ago seems like more than a coincidence, but I could be wrong.
