3 young talents Liverpool should play next season

Liverpool are not behind Manchester United or Chelsea in producing and scouting talented footballers, an example being the recent success of Raheem Sterling and Jon Flanagan. There are a few Reserve and Under-18 players who deserve a chance to appear in the first team next season.

#1 Ryan McLaughlin

Liverpool signed 16-year old Ryan McLaughlin in the summer of 2011 from Glenovan F.C. on a three-year deal. He started out in Liverpool's Under-18 squad in the 2011-12 season, making 14 appearances.

In July 2012, McLaughlin was one of a number of youngsters selected to travel with the senior squad on the team's pre-season tour of the USA. He made his unofficial senior début against A.S. Roma where he played an impressive first half performance before being replaced in the second half. He was then given a squad number by new manager Brendan Rodgers for the 2012-13 season.

While playing for Barnsley on loan, Mclaughlin made 21 tackles on his debut and was praised by Barnsley manager Danny Wilson. A possible replacement for Martin Skrtel?

#2 Tiago Ilori

On 2 September 2013, Ilori was signed by Liverpool for a total transfer fee of £7 million. It was also announced that The FA were in talks with the player for him to switch nationality and represent England internationally.

The seemingly tall English-Portuguese played for Sporting Lisbon in the 2011-2012 season but was degraded down to the B side after only making 4 appearences in the later part of the campaign.

He is already touted as the next big thing in Portugal and can step into Daniel Agger's shoes once he decides to leave the club or to hang his shoes for good.

#3 Jerome Sinclair

Officially Liverpool's youngest player to grace the field, Jerome Sinclair has already shown his metal in the NextGen series and in the reserve team. His fine form brought him to the attention of first team coach Brendan Rodgers. He called Sinclair up to the first team for the League Cup third round tie away to West Brom on 26 September 2012. He came off the bench in the 81st minute in place of Samed Yesil to break Jack Robinson's record as Liverpool's youngest ever player- at 16 years and 6 days old. He was handed shirt number 48 for the occasion.

Liverpool signed Sinclair as a 14-year-old from the West Bromwich Albion youth academy in the summer of 2011. A very highly-rated youngster, it has been suggested that the Liverpool coaching staff consider his potential to be at a similar level to that of Raheem Sterling.
