10 Most Underrated games

Here is a list of 10 most underrated games of the previous gen consoles. All of these games have the potential, graphics, gameplay and storyline but they lack in gaining the attention of the gamers and the critics. So have a look at it once and give them a try.

#10 LOST ODYSSEY

Lost Odyssey stands among the best examples of the genre – 10 most underrated games where many were suprised as to why the game wasn’t pushed as more as the incredible amount of love and work that went into it’s making. The game was launched for Xbox 360 probably by the founder of ‘father of final fantasy’ Hironobu Sakaguchi in order to get the Japanese and JRPG Fans over to their side of the fence.

#9 Vanquish

Vanquish is sadly the second Platinum Games development that has been title under this list till now after Bayonetta. It can be seen as soon as you play the game that it gives you a feeling of joy and a rush of adrenaline, it scores over the top if we have to look at the gameplay and the graphics but sadly because of the story line the game could not achieve much sucess. However if gamers are interesting in awesome graphics and an amazing fight then you should probably give this one a try.

#8 SSX Tricky

SSX Tricky was one of the best multiplayer games of all time and so its sequel on PS3 and 360 was destined to win the crown but unfortunately EA Sports decided to axe the game’s local multiplayer option. This took away all the charm that the game had to offer in the first place only to then place itself under the category of one of the most underrated games. SSX is a game that was built for local multiplayer but this one just screwed it up. So if there can be any consolation then gamers can atleast see what it is all about.

#7 DMC: Devil May Cry

DMC: Devil May Cry is by far one of the most underrated games till now as the critics were positive about its gameplay but the fans on the other hand were not so. Dante looks ugly for most of the game but everything else has significant improvement, sill the game sold considerably less than Devil May Cry 4 making this release a complete faliure.

This game however has been poorly judged and it seriously needs a second consideration since now it is available at a cheaper rate.

#6 Sniper: Ghost Warrior II

The game Sniper: Ghost Warrior did not make it to he top list with the critics is admittable so why would any one take a shot at giving its second version Sniper :Ghost Warroir II a try?

Well, although many have not played this game after reading its reviews and its previous sale score but the makers can now assure you that buying this game will not be a regret. The gameplay mechanics are simple: you are a sniper, you’re assigned targets, you occasionally have to avoid enemies in stealth sections, and you then move onto the next level. The game isn’t particularly long, but more so than any other gameit make you truly immersed in the art of sniping, having to take account of various environmental factors like wind and visibility before taking the crucial shot. Its not as great as you would expect, that is the reason why it falls under the category of one of the most underrated games, but i would give it a shot.

#5 Splinter Cell: Blacklist

Splinter Cell: Blacklist received many positive reviews broadly positive reviews. The game offered the players choose their action like either take the action route or the stealth route and many more. But inspite of it’s solid reviews, the game did not sell well and If we have to look at the posts on various message boards from various web pages, we can easily see why.

Although it’s pretty bad that Sam Fisher now sounds like an 18 year old, but the core elements of the game are as slick and entertaining as they have ever been. Sadly the game has just been underrated.

#4 Silent hill: Shattered memories

None of the Silent Hill games have offered an exception to the rule of impressing its gamers when it came to the genre Horror. With Homecoming and PSP title Silent Hill: Origins posing as soulless imitators of the series' ideas, Silent Hill was just one of the innovations on offer that made Shattered Memories a great addition to the Silent Hill series. These new features kept us on our toes, something any good horror game should do, but it did not make it to the list.

#3 Conan

Conan is one of the projects that had it all, could do it all but was just out of luck when it came to getting sold. This was yet another attempt to build on a success of combat-centric games like Ninja Garden and God of War but due to it’s gore and ‘adult’ themes it became age restricted and got underrated where as it should have been the game of the year.

#2 Homefront

Homefront has probably been one the most underrated games that THQ has attempted to make in order to tackle the space dominated by Call Of Duty. But unfortunately did not get much attention as Call Of Duty fans were, well lets say faithful to it.

Unfortunately, the culture that supports games ike Call of Duty and GTA also leaves no room for near-misses, and Homefront, despite selling respectably, has gone down in gaming consciousness as a failure. It’s far from that, and has plenty to offer besides being a pretty decent shooter.

#1 Saboteur

The Saboteur, like any game, certainly has it’s issues, but it’s packed with astonishingly courageous decisions. The amount of effort that went into it’s making did not get any justice. A lot of invesment was put into it’s facial graphic tech, and also the conceit of marking resistance-held areas by an ethereal, pastoral aesthetic while the Nazi-controlled regions remain starkly black and white is something you’d never see come out of triple-A today. This game has been highly underrated for it’s effort.
