5 players who have succeeded after leaving Manchester United

Nemanja Vidic is set to play his last game for Manchester United this weekend. The Serbian has been phenomenal at the club for 8 years and won 15 trophies with the Red Devils. Vidic becomes one of the few people to leave United after a long-term of service. He could be followed by Ryan Giggs, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra.Here's a list of 5 players who've left United and had great careers.

#1 Carlos Tevez

Tevez was signed on a two-year loan deal in 2007. After a stuttery career at United where he scored just 19 goals in 63 appearances and reports that he wasn't happy with his lack of playing time, he signed for city rivals, Manchester City in 2009. At City, he played an important role and scored 58 goals in 113 appearances, winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Community Shield. He left the club in 2013 and joined Italian side, Juventus, where he's won the Supercopa Italiana and is about to win consecutive Serie A titles. He's also scored 19 goals in only 31 appearances for the club.

#2 Diego Forlan

Diego Forlan signed for United in 2002 and after 3 years of irregular games at the club left for Villareal in 2004. In 3 years at the club, Forlan made 106 appearances and scored 54 goals. He won the Pichichi Trophy for most goals of the season in 2005. After leaving the club in 2007, he joined Atletico Madrid where he scored 74 goals in 134 appearances and won the Europa League and the European Super Cup with them. He left for Inter Milan in the summer, but after an unsuccessful spell moved to Brazil and played for Internacional in 2012, scoring 10 goals in 34 appearances. He currently plays for Cerezo Osaka in Japan.

#3 David Beckham

Manchester United's Golden Boy, David Beckham, served the club for 10 years, won countless trophies and scored some beautiful goals. In 2003 when he left the club following a dispute with manager, Sir Alex Ferguson. He joined Spanish giants, Real Madrid for €35 million. He won the La Liga and the Supoercopa de Espana before leaving in 2007. He joined MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy for an estimated fee of $32.5 million. He won 10 trophies with them but his best years were arguably behind him. He retired after various loan spells with AC Milan and one season at Paris St. Germain where he won the Ligue 1.

#4 Gerard Pique

Gerard Pique wasn't a big hit at United and managed to make only 12 first team appearances for the Red Devils in 4 years. one of which he spent on loan at Real Zaragoza. Barcelona bought him for £5 million in 2008 and Pique was delighted to go back to his boyhood club. Since joining Barca, Pique has become a regular in the side and has won 16 trophies with the club. He's also won the FIFA World Cup 2010 and the UEFA Euro 2012 with Spain.

#5 Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo was brought in by Sir Alex Ferguson from Sporting CP for €15 million, he was the first Portuguese player to play for the Red Devils. After 6 years at he club where he won various trophies and personal awards, he joined Real Madrid in 2009 for £80 million, making him the most expensive player. Ronaldo has gone on to become one of the best players in the world and won the Ballon D'Or in 2014. He has an incredible goal ratio and has scored 177 goals in 164 appearances. He's won the La Liga and the Copa Del Rey with them and has the oppurtunity to add a Champions League medal to his collection when Real Madrid face Atletico Madrid in the final. He also became the captain of his national team, Portugal and has scored 49 goals for them.
