Arsenals Mr Dependable Bacary Sagna is out of contract at the end of this season. There are talks going on over an extension, but Galatasaray and Inter Milan are keeping an eye on him in case he leaves the club.Bacary Sagna, 31, joined the Gunners from Auxerre in the summer of 2007 & has been performing consistently over the years. Wenger is hopeful that the Frenchman will stay beyond this season and rumours are flying around that Sagna has been offered a three year contract at the Emirates. If a deal fails to materialize and with Carl Jenkinson not ready to step up, here are some potential replacements for the right back.
#5 Serge Aurier
The Gunners have been keeping tabs on the 21-year-old defender for the last couple of seasons. He started his career at Lens before moving to Toulouse where he developed immensely under the management of Alain Casanova.
He attracted fame out of the pitch when he posted two pictures of himself in an Arsenal jersey inside a week on social media. The youngster can play in multiple positions such as Right Back & Centre Back and would be an ideal replacement for Bacary Sagna.
Reports suggest Aurier is keen to play for the Gunners and under Arsene Wenger.
#4 Sebastian Jung
Club: Eintracht Frankfurt
The young German full back is priced around 7 million and is one of the hottest assets in the market right now. Jung started his Bundesliga career with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2008 and since then he has been a regular in the side. He has also represented Germany on different youth levels.
He is great going forward and is known for his attacking abilities. Speed, positioning and his ability to read the game could make him a success at Arsenal.
If signed by the Gunners, Sebastian Jung will join his German compatriots Mesut Ozil, Lukas Podolski, Per Mertesacker and Serge Gnabry.
#3 Sebastian Corchia
Arsenal are monitoring Sebastien Corchia since the winter transfer window of 2013. He was on the verge of leaving Sochaux at that time but no deal went through. Along with Arsenal, Chelsea & Tottenham are also interested in the 23-year-old defender.
Corchia is under contract till 2015 at Sochaux but an offer in the region of 5-7 million would be tempting for the French club. Corchia has represented France on various youth levels such as Under 17 to Under 21 and is ready for first team action.
#2 Seamus Coleman
The Everton right back tops Wengers wish list to replace the veteran defender Bacary Sagna. Coleman cost just over 60,000 back in 2009 when he joined Goodison Park from Irish football club Sligo Rovers. Since then he has been a consistent performer in the team.
In December of 2012, Seamus Coleman signed a five and a half year contract extension with the Toffees. He is part of an Everton defence that have kept 12 clean sheets and conceded just 31 goals this season in the Premier League.
He had one of the games of his life when Everton battered Arsenal 3-0 at the Goodison Park. With Premier League experience on his side, he would fit in seamlessly at the Emirates.
#1 Lukasz Piszczek
Club: Borussia Dortmund
With big stars leaving Borussia Dortmund, Piszczek could be one of them to walk out on the German club in the summer. Piszczek has racked up just 15 appearances for Dortmund this season due to injuryand is said to be considering offers from other some of the top clubs from the Europe.
He joined the German club in the summer of 2010 on a free transfer from Hertha Berlin and went on to win the German Championship for two consecutive seasons. In July, 2011, he signed a contract extension to keep him at Westfalenstadion till 2015. Priced at 7 million, Europes elites such as PSG & Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on the defender.
