Top Players who left Arsenal for Silverware

#2 Ashley Cole - 2006

Ashley Cole (1998-2006)

Joined: Chelsea for £5 million, with William Gallas arriving in exchange

Age while Leaving: 25 years

Reasons for Leaving: The left-back seeked a better pay from Arsenal. But the Gunners refused to go higher than 55,000 Pounds-a-week. He held talks with Chelsea without informing Arsenal and moved to Stamford Bridge in 2006. The Blues offered him £90,000 a week, and it was enough to keep Cole's deep pockets filled.

What Happened Then? He went on to enjoy a superb career at Chelsea and delivered several trophies to the West London club, most notably the Champions League in 2012. Jose Mourinho's return as manager in 2013 found Cole surplus to his requirements with Azpilicueta’s meteoric rise. He lost his place in the starting line-up and was eventually released by the club this year.

Titles after leaving Arsenal:

Chelsea: EPL (1), FA Cup (4), League Cup (1), UEFA Champions League (1), Europa League (1)
