Vardy to be offered ‘double wages’ by Leicester?The winter window gets closer with each passing day and the transfer rumour mill is starting to pick up steam. There has been a buzz around many players and clubs, some needing reinforcements, others seeking moves away from their respective clubs for more than a single reason. Nonetheless, the January window is poised to give us some interesting news.Here are the top transfer news and rumours of the day from leagues around Europe.

#1 Serie A

End of days with AC Milan

- Napoli midfielder Jorginho has signed a contract extension with the Italian high-flyers, which can keep him at the club till 2020.

The 24-year midfielder has been linked with a move to Premier League giants Arsenal previously, but the extension means that speculation about his future can be put to rest.

“Napoli announce the renewal of the contract with Jorginho until June 30, 2020,” read a statement from the club.

- AC Milan have put Antonio Nocerino and Diego Lopez on the transfer list, Sportsmole reports.

Both, the midfielder and the goalkeeper have fallen down the pecking order in Sinisa Mihajlovic’s reign and will look for new clubs in the January transfer window. Supposedly, Genoa are interested in the Italian midfielder and a number of Premier League clubs are interested in the signing of the ex-Real Madrid shot stopper.

- Inter Milan have all but completed the signing of Boca Juniors striker Jonathan Calleri, according to the player’s agent Angelo Paradiso.

“There's good news about Calleri. [Inter Milan's] purchase is almost done, we're just lacking the final details,” he said. However, he added that the 22-year-old might be sent on loan to Bologna straightaway.

Rodriguez to Real Madrid?

- Real Madrid are looking to bring in Wolfsburg left-back Ricardo Rodriguez in the January transfer window, Spanish publication Sport reports.

The Swiss international was scouted by the Los Blancos in the last summer transfer window as well, but he chose to stay with Wolfsburg. The 22-year-old, who will act as a backup for Marcelo if he signs for the Madrid-based club, is a Barcelona fan and has previously said that he watches as many Barca matches as possible.

- Barcelona are keen to grab the signature of Villareal winger Denis Suarez, AS reports.

The 21-year-old Spaniard has previously represented the Barcelona B team and was then sent to Sevilla on loan, before permanently moving to the Yellow submarines prior to the start of this season. Reportedly, he has a clause in his contract which allows the Catalan giants to re-sign him in July 2016 for three million euros.

- Valencia manager Gary Neville is looking to make FC Porto midfielder Giannelli Imbula his first signing, le10sport reports.

Imbula moved to Portugal this summer from Olympique Marseille and was scouted by a number of Premier League teams in Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur during the summer window.

#3 English Premier League

Muto to solve United’s problems?

- Arsenal are interested in the signing of Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, The Sun reports.

The Gunners are missing both their first choice central midfielders through injuries now and Arsene Wenger has made the signing of a top class midfielder his priority in the January transfer window. Supposedly, the Polish midfielder will cost Arsenal around £33million in the January transfer window.

- Manchester United are now looking towards Mainz striker Yoshinori Muto to turn their season around, The Guardian reports.

Supposedly, Sir Alex Ferguson has recommended the United board to make an approach for the Japanese in the January transfer window.

- Leicester City are ready to offer their star striker Jamie Vardy a considerable rise in wages, The Mirror reports.

With reports that Chelsea are ready to submit a bid in the region of £30-32m in the January window, the Foxes are desperate to hold on to their prized possession who is currently Premier League’s top scorer. Supposedly, Vardy will be offered a new “double your money” contract to make him stay at the club.

#4 Rest of Europe

Elneny to Arsenal done?

- Schalke youngster Leroy Sane’s agent Jurgen Milewski has denied the rumours linking the player with various Premier League clubs.

"Schalke is the best place Leroy could be," Milewski said. "A winter transfer is not an issue. He is very happy at Schalke."

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been linked with the 19-year-old previously, but now it has been made sure that he will not switch clubs in the January transfer window.

- FC Basel's Mohamed Elneny is set to join Premier League outfit Arsenal, Swiss publication Aargauer Zeitung reports.

Both the clubs have supposedly agreed on a fee for the midfielder and the Gunners are set to discuss personal terms with the Egyptian who will join the club as soon as the January transfer window opens.
