Best Parlay (+455) for Jacksonville Jaguars vs Indianapolis Colts - Week 6 - October 16 | 2022 NFL Football Season

Jacksonville Jaguars v Atlanta Falcons
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne

The Jacksonville Jaguars (2-3) and Indianapolis Colts (2-2-1) will kick off their NFL season series on Sunday (October 16) in Indiana.

The Jags will look to rebound after a home loss to the then-winless Houston Texans. The offense only mustered six points on the afternoon, as QB Trevor Lawrence was held in check. The second-year signal caller was held without a passing touchdown for the first time this season. Defensively, they played admirably, but a late fourth-quarter touchdown by Texans RB Dameon Pierce put the game on ice.

Meanwhile, the Colts just played an offensive snoozefest of their own, winning 12-9 over the Denver Broncos in overtime. The Colts, short of both their leading rushers, struggled mightily throughout the game.

Nevertheless, a clutch interception of Broncos QB Russell Wilson was the spark that led to a game-tying Chase McLaughlin field goal with eight seconds left in regulation. McLaughlin would kick another field goal in overtime before Wilson turned it over on downs. Below, we'll go through the best parlay to make for Sunday's contest.

NFL Parlay Leg #1: Indianapolis Colts (+3.5) (-210)

The Colts have won four straight home games against the Jaguars, including a 23-17 win in 2021. Indianapolis should be riding momentum into this matchup after their gritty win on Thursday.

It also helps that the Colts have a full ten days to prepare for this matchup, compared to seven for the Jags. Hence, the safe play for the parlay is to take 3.5 points in a game with severe implications within the standings of the AFC South.

NFL Parlay Leg #2: Alec Pierce 25+ Receiving Yards (-440)

When the Colts selected WR Alec Pierce in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the belief was that the 22-year-old would be a big part of the offense from day one.

Instead, Pierce laid a goose egg in the season opener and missed Week 2 with a concussion but bounced back beautifully with three straight games of over 60 yards receiving.

As a result, the former Cincinnati Bearcat is earning the coaching staff's trust, playing 59% of the snaps last week while snagging eight catches for 81 yards. If the Jaguars scheme to stop the team's best WR, Michael Pittman, Pierce should get doused in a healthy amount of targets.

NFL Parlay Leg #3: Travis Etienne 40+ Rushing Yards (-114)

Rookie RB Travis Etienne is an ever-improving asset for the Jaguars, coming off the best game of his young career against the Houston Texans, totaling 115 yards on a 53% snap share.

The former Clemson Tiger, who missed all of 2021 with a Lisfranc injury, has seen an uptick in snaps and yards per rush for a fifth straight week. A performance like last week should help separate Etienne from fellow RB James Robinson in their timeshare.

If Etienne can obtain at least ten carries on Sunday, the former first-rounder should eclipse 40 yards, like he did the other two times he had double-digit rushes.

NFL Parlay Leg #4: Under (57.5) (-1600)

The only reason to play a leg with such short odds is to qualify for the FanDuel parlay promotion.

The under at 57.5 should be a safe addition considering the two AFC South clubs rank in the top ten in points allowed per game, while the offenses sit outside the top 12. Neither the Jaguars nor the Colts have played in a game where the total was over 50 points.
