Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers Key Stats

Patrick Mahomes is currently the MVP favorite, and he's enjoying another great season. Mahomes has totaled 25 passing touchdowns to just seven interceptions, while he's amassed 2,936 yards through the air. Even without Tyreek Hill, this Chiefs offense ranks second in total yards in the NFL and first in points per game. Tight end Travis Kelce has been one of, if not the best, at his position over the previous few years, and this year he leads the Chiefs with 715 receiving yards and eight TDs. Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster has had an excellent first year in KC, but he'll miss today's matchup due to injury. Fortunately for the Chargers, The Chiefs run a very pass-heavy offense since LA has a subpar run defense.

The Chargers' Justin Herbert has been solid this year, but his overall production has dipped compared to his first two years in the league. Still, Herbert is one of the more talented QBs in the NFL, and today receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams should suit up, providing a huge boost for the home side. Austin Ekeler is a great weapon out of the backfield, too, as he's tallied 451 rushing yards as well as 420 receiving yards. The passing game will be key for LA tonight, especially since Kansas City's weakness this year has been their inability to force turnovers, as they have just three team interceptions so far.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers Betting Prediction

As good as the Chiefs are, the absence of JuJu Smith-Schuster will make it tougher for Mahomes and Kansas City's offense. While the visitors should win, in their last six games directly after a win, they've covered zero. Meanwhile, LA fought hard and lost by just three to KC at the beginning of the year, so they should be able to hang with their division rivals tonight, especially with their key offensive players back. The Chargers have covered four of the past six head-to-head meetings, so expect that to be the case tonight.

Prediction: Chargers +5.5 (-110)
