Detroit Pistons vs Milwaukee Bucks Key Stats

The Pistons and Bucks entered the 2022-2023 season with different expectations. While the Pistons were expected to once again wind up in the draft lottery, the Bucks are expected to compete for the NBA title.

The Bucks have been without All-Star guard Khris Middleton to begin the season. Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo has picked up the slack, ranking second in the league in both points per game and rebounds per game, with 34.4 and 14.0, respectively.

The Milwaukee Bucks offense, however, has struggled, ranking just 19th in points per game and 16th in offensive rating. Despite their offensive struggles, Milwaukee remains undefeated due to a defense that has been the best in the NBA thus far. The Bucks rank first in the league in both opponent points per game and defensive rating.

The Pistons, meanwhile, have been poor on both sides of the ball. Detroit's offense ranks 22nd in points per game and 21st in offensive rating. Their defense has been even worse, ranking 28th in opponent points per game and 29th in defensive rating. They are, however, coming off a big win against defending champions Golden State Warriors.

The Bucks will be without Middleton, Joe Ingles, Pat Connaughton, and two-way rookie A.J. Green. For Detroit, Marvin Bagley, Alec Burks, and Jalen Duren will miss Monday's contest.

Detroit Pistons vs Milwaukee Bucks Betting Prediction

While the Pistons enter this matchup coming off of a strong showing against the Warriors last night, this team isn't built to defeat title contenders on back-to-back nights.

Look for Giannis Antetokounmpo to take advantage of Detroit's poor defense, as they lack the size to slow him down. Additionally, expect the Pistons offense to struggle to keep the pace against the NBA's top-ranked defense. Expect the Bucks to cover, even with such a large spread.

Pick: Milwaukee Bucks -13 (-110) and Over 224.5 (-110)
