CWG 2022: Full list of Commonwealth Games sports & events

Seventy-two nations are expected to participate in the upcoming 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG), scheduled to take place in Birmingham between July 28 and August 8, making it a highly anticipated event.

This will be the third time England will be hosting the competition following the London 1934 and Manchester 2002 Games.

The 22nd edition of the multi-sporting event will witness 5054 athletes competing for glory in 280 events across 20 sports.


Commonwealth Games Sports List

For the first time in the history of the Commonwealth Games, the number of events for women (136) will be higher than for men (134). In addition, 10 mixed events will be contested in Birmingham.

On that note, here's a look at the sports that are included for the upcoming edition of the CWG:

India at the Commonwealth Games - List of Sports & Events

India will be sending a 215-member contingent, including 108 men and 107 women, in what will be their 18th appearance at the Commonwealth Games. The total strength of the contingent will, however, be 322, including 72 team officials, 26 extra officials, and nine contingent staff, including three general managers.

Here's a look at the Indian athletes vying for medals at the Birmingham CWG:
