Europa League

With Turkey being one of the most difficult places to play for Liverpool following their past losses to Besiktas and other clubs, it remains to be seen whether David slays Goliath story comes up. Manchester City would be wary of complacency when they face FC Timisoara at the Eastlands but they know that the job is already half done. Aston Villa, the other English club in the fray would be looking to overcome a disappointing 0-6 loss against league rivals Newcastle and progress further in the competition. But they would have their task cut out against SK Rapid Wien whom they would be facing at Villa Park. The away goal might prove to be handful as it seems to be a very tight match .

Juventus would be looking to finish off the tie against Sturm Graz whom they are leading 2-1. Celtic, meanwhile would be desperate to avoid early jitters and put the game past Dutch side Utrecht when they face them having a 2-0 lead.

However, it would be crunch time for some of the leading clubs in the world as they look to avoid the ignominy of an exit from the Europa League qualification. Galatasaray FC would be looking for a difficult away win against Karpaty after they were held to a 2-2 draw at home in Istanbul. Similarly, PSV Eindhoven who had suffered a shock loss against FC Sibir Novosibirsk 0-1 .

The winning teams would be combined with Atletico Madrid and the losing teams from the champions league qualifying round for the group phase draw of the Europa League.
