There seems to be no way out for the Delhi Daredevils out of the mess they have got themselves into but there can be no better opportunity perhaps to play Kochi Tuskers Kerala as they themselves were crushed by Hyderabad Deccan Chargers in their last game. Kochi were molested in that game by the demolition brigade of Dale Steyn and Ishant Sharma.
Delhi Daredevils share the bottom rung of the table with Sahara Pune Warriors currently with just two wins in seven games in IPL 4. Delhi have been one of the most consistent teams in the League upto this edition, but they seem to be miserably failing for now. To turn it around, they will have to win most of their matches now and for that they will have to punch above their weight. Their line-up is nothing much to boast of given the firepower of most other teams. They must take a leaf out of Kings XI Punjab‘s book who have done well in spite of a weak team on paper.
Virender Sehwag has been the biggest disappointment in the Delhi camp as he has failed to fire consistently given the performance of other captains in this competition. David Warner is like the volcano that blasts once in years and he has still failed to produce one brilliant match winning inning that is surely needed.
For the Kochi Tuskers Kerala, things would be only a bit more simpler but if they lose this one they will find themselves languishing with Delhi and Pune. In that sense, it will be a do or die game for them. They must bat out of their skins as a weak batting side is not surviving in the hostile conditions of IPL 4. Their bowling looks sharper with RP Singh and Sreesanth are finding their rhythm finally.
Mahela Jayawardene and Brendon Mccullum must fire for Kochi at the top if they wish to succeed against Delhi. They will have some potent opposition from Morne Morkel and Irfan Pathan but home conditions would help.
