India ended Day 2 of the fourth Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at 266/8, leading by 4 runs after Australia were bowled out for 262 in their first innings earlier in the day

 2. UEFA World Cup 2014 Qualifiers: Spain stutter while England thump San Marino


Wales kept their hopes of qualification alive with a hard fought come from behind win over Scotland at Hampden Park. Both sides saw key players withdraw due to injury. Meanwhile, Veteran striker Ivica Olic scored one and set up one as Croatia beat Serbia 2-0 at home in Zagreb. On the other hand Belgium fought their way to a 2-0 victory at Skopje in a nervy encounter against Macedonia

3. Mourinho reiterates FIFA manager award ‘fix’ claim


Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho reiterated Saturday his claim that he and not Spain handler Vicente Del Bosque was the rightful recipient of FIFA’s 2012 World Coach of the Year award. Mourinho earlier this week alleged that del Bosque picked up the honour at a ceremony in Zurich in January only after “irregularities” when people who had voted for him had their votes changed.

4. Miami Masters: Somdev battles through; Djokovic in devastating form


Somdev Devvarman beats Eduoard Roger-Vasselin 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 in a two hour 20 minute encounter that was never short on drama. He must have been a warrior in a past life. “The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure,” said the great American coach, Vince Lombardi who would have happily embraced the fighting Indian into his camp just for possessing an undying spirit to do battle irrespective of whether he carried the tools or not.

5. Li advances to fourth round at Miami

China’s fifth-seeded Li Na smacked 19 winners and fought off a late comeback bid to defeat American Varvara Lepchenko 6-2, 6-4 Saturday to reach the fourth round of the WTA and ATP Miami Masters event.

6. Vettel on pole for Malaysian Grand Prix


Reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel snatched pole position for the Malaysian Grand Prix on Saturday in the dying seconds of a dramatic qualifying session which was thrown into chaos by rain.

7. Heat beat Pistons for 25th straight win


The Miami Heat stretched their record win streak to 25 straight games but once again they had to dig deep in the second half to rally past a spirited opponent. The Heat, who own the second-longest streak in National Basketball Association history, beat the Detroit Pistons 103-89 behind a game-high 29-point effort from LeBron James.
