OFFICIAL: Sergio Batista ain’t Argentina Manager anymore

The committee has decided to rescind its contract with Batista and suspend the friendly match with Romania to consider who will take on the duties of the national team. There are no deadlines to decide a successor; the decision will be made in time.

Well, I’m a bit surprised, I would have thought that Julio Grondola would have been much more persistent in trying to keep Batista considering that he wanted to ‘defame’ Maradona or whatsoever. Another reason why it’s surprising is that most indications led to Batista staying, not going, so I am personally a bit surprised.

Liverpool miss out on French International…

…and he’s not Gael Clichy. Liverpool have missed out on Blaise Matuidi, with the 24-year-old France international completing a move to French side Paris Saint-Germain just today. For all those who want to know, he’s a defensive midfielder whom is renown for his tough tackling. Liverpool were reportedly looking to him for quite a while before the Parisan side’s capture of the midfielder.

So Arsenal Won’t Be signing Mata?

Well, it certainly looks like it, especially after reading this:

Valencia president Manuel Llorente insists Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City are wasting their time in pursuing midfielder Juan Mata, who they say is not for sale at any price.
