1927: Birthday of Indian hockey legend Leslie Claudius, part of the Indian men’s hockey team which won the Olympic gold in 1948, 1952 and 1956 and a silver in 1960. Was the first to play over 100 games for India.

1958: Birthday of Yograj Singh, former Indian cricketer and father of Yuvraj Singh.

1992: Pakistan beat England to win their first ever World Cup.

1989: Birthday of Scott Sinclair, Manchester City winger.
