US Open squash: Dipika Pallikal, Saurav Ghosal in the fray

Can Joshna Chinnappa carry forward her good form?

Three Indian players will in action at the US Open squash event that will be played in the state of Philadelphia on Friday night and will proceed into the wee hours of Saturday morning.

Saurav Ghosal, who recently won the Kolkata International back home after defeating Marwan ElShorbagy of Egypt in the final will look to continue his good form into the competition and will take on Gregory Gaultier of France in the opening round of the competition.

Joshna Chinappa who finished as a semifinalist at the Carol Weymuller Open will also look to put in a strong performance in the tournament and will kick off her campaign against Annie Au of Hong Kong in the first round.

Joining Chinnappa in the Women’s Singles event will be Dipika Pallikal who bowed in the opening round of the Carol Weymuller Open, losing a close contest to World No. 1 Raneem El Welily will look to put in a much better show and will face a qualifier in the first round.
