Women's World Squash Championship: Joshna Chinappa progresses to second round

India's highest world ranked player Joshna Chinappa crossed the first hurdle, winning her first round match against Victoria Lust of England 11-8, 11-3, 11-5 in the women's world squash championship in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.

Drawn in the top half, the 14th ranked player played a tight game and made things easy for herself while making the rival struggle. Joshna, however. has a tough second round, against the top seed Laura Massaro of England. Laura is also currently ranked one in the world.

Another Indian in the fray, Dipika Pallikal is in the bottom half and that match is to be held tomorrow. A quarterfinalist in 2011, Dipika is pitted against Annie Au of Hong Kong.
