There are couples you root for, and then there’s Teriah on The Young and the Restless. From the moment Mariah and Tessa got together, it was clear to me that they weren't just another soap couple but rather a history in the making. Though they have faced intense drama, family issues, and career shifts, they have always remained one of The Young and the Restless's genuine couples.

Fans have watched their relationship grow from uncertainty into a beautiful commitment, which was marked by support, growth, and compassion. When they got married in 2022, I was even more excited, as it was not just a high point for the characters but a standout moment for LGBTQ+ representation on daytime TV.

So when Mariah came home from a business trip weeks later looking horrible and confessed to Sharon that she had done something "terrible," I could sense a huge drama brewing, which might wreck my favorite couple. However, the storyline was just dropped, and nothing happened.

Now that we have reached June and it being the Pride month, The Young and the Restless has shifted its focus back to Teriah, and the secret that Mariah has been hiding might soon unravel and cause ripples in their relationship, as the weekly preview suggests.

A confession that could shatter Teriah

In the recent preview, Mariah can be seen pacing in Sharon's house, weighed down by guilt and struggling to make a decision that would shatter her marriage. Whatever it is, she is not over the "terrible thing" that happened or that she did.

Sharon is seen pushing her daughter to be honest, no matter how bad it turns out to be. Though it is a classic soap opera arc, I am scared that this might ruin their relationship for a long time, as whatever Mariah is hiding seems serious enough to make her question whether Tessa would stay if she knew the truth.

What makes it all worse is that Mariah finds Tessa enjoying a love song in the park, unaware that her wife is about to drop a huge bomb that could ruin their relationship.

While we don't know the details of Mariah's secret, many fans speculate that it might involve infidelity, and if that's the case, I am confident that the relationship would take a huge hit.

Could a new triangle be brewing on The Young and the Restless?

If the secret involves infidelity, that's where things get more complicated. If Tesa finds out that Mariah has cheated or something equally damaging, she would need emotional support. That's where Daniel might come in.

The preview shows him being in the same park as this fallout is set to take place, and Tessa could find comfort in an old friend, which might mean that there is a possibility of a hookup between Tessa and Daniel.

Tessa has been identified as bisexual on The Young and the Restless through her relationships with both men and women, so the possibility of a hookup with Daniel doesn't seem to be out of the picture.

However, if they do pair up Daniel and Tessa, it would be a betrayal of Teriah and would also ruin Tessa's character development. I am not against twists, but I want the twists to make sense instead of being forced to create drama.

I believe that Teriah would make it out of this fallout eventually, as they have a strong bond. However, I would hate to watch the unnecessary drama that this fallout would create in the relationship of my favorite couple.

But the truth has a way of cracking even the most stable ground, and when it finally comes out, Teriah may never be the same on The Young and the Restless.
