Carter and Hope's plan to usurp Forrester Creations has reached Ridge, as revealed in the latest episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. In an unexpected coup, Carter Walton, the COO of the company, signed his name on the company's LLC documents, declaring himself as the head. The CEO and the management, trusting him, signed the papers without reviewing them.
He and his girlfriend, Hope Logan, had schemed this step in retaliation for Hope's exit from Forrester Creations. However, Ridge blamed Hope for the coup, calling her manipulative. He offered to smooth out the situation if Carter broke off his relationship.
As one of the longest-running American daily soaps on CBS, The Bold and the Beautiful has presented emotionally charged story arcs since its premiere in March 1987. The storyline focuses on Forrester Creations, the fashion business run by the Forrester family, and their interactions with their friends, the Logans, and their rivals, the Spencer family.
While Seffy Forrester and Hope Logan share a long-standing feud in the soap's plot, fans were unhappy with Ridge calling Hope a manipulator. One viewer, going by the name Sandra Delgado Cristobal, commented:
"And what about Steffy? She is the biggest manipulator ever."
Sandra replied to a discussion thread on Facebook's public fan page, where another viewer, Rosie Paino, highlighted Ridge's comments about Hope manipulating men.
Many other fans shared similar opinions about Ridge's comments, pointing out Steffy's behavior.
While some viewers pointed out Steffy as the manipulator, others argued Ridge was wrong to say this about Hope.
Some others think Hope was not wrong with the men in her life.
The Bold and the Beautiful: What did Ridge say inviting a negative fan reaction?
The B&B episode which aired on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, saw Ridge Forrester taking steps to try and plug Carter's coup. After discussing the situation with lawyer Justin, Ridge wanted to talk to Carter about his betrayal. He sent the latter a message asking him to meet in the office.
Ridge told his company COO, Carter Walton, that he knew about the rebellion and blamed Hope for using Carter. He demanded to know the reason for the backstabbing, whether it was Carter's rejected business idea or Steffy firing Hope.
He told the younger man how Hope often sank her hooks into her men and made them love her before driving them away. Ridge also name-dropped Liam Spencer and Thomas Forrester to prove his point. He also guilt-tripped Carter by calling him a friend and a brother, a part of the family, and questioned how Carter thanked them in return.
He further said that planning a coup over a sacking did not seem like Carter's idea since he knew how businesses worked, reiterating this was Hope's idea. Finally, Ridge offered to give Carter another chance if the latter ended his toxic relationship with Hope and threw her out of his life.
What was the business coup against Forresters all about?
Longtime The Bold and the Beautiful fans know that CEO Steffy Forrester has a decades-old rivalry with Hope Logan. A few weeks ago, a drunk Hope had kissed Steffy's husband, Finn. Despite the perpetrator's apology, Steffy didn't forgive Hope for her slip.
Hope Logan and Carter Walton recently started a romantic relationship they wanted to keep hidden. Only Hope's mother, Brooke Logan, knew about the same.
Due to his love for Hope, Carter decided to back Hope's loss-making design line, Hope for the Future, and fought to keep it going. On the other hand, he also presented expansion ideas for the company, which the Forresters shot down.
Unfortunately, Steffy caught Hope in a questionable position when Hope tripped and fell on Finn. While Hope was dressed in lingerie and was waiting for Carter, she did not want to expose her office romance. However, a furious Steffy believes Hope is trying to seduce Finn and fires her from the company.
