Lulu Spencer went into a coma after suffering head injuries from an explosive accident in 2020. The character was married to Dante Falconeri at the time and shared a family with him, but the characters have now had four years to grow and move on as Lulu remained comatose on the soap.
Earlier in 2024, Lulu's mother Laura received a disturbing update about her daughter's health: Lulu was experiencing liver failure in her coma. Doctors mentioned that the character might need urgent organ donation surgery to ensure that she lived.
Lulu's brother Lucky Spencer was called in from Africa, and Jason and Anna went to fetch him back to Port Charles for Lulu's surgery. However, it turned out that Lucky was not a match as an organ donor, sending the family into a frenzy once more.
