AJ Dybantsa is widely recognized as the best high school basketball player in the Class of 2025. The 6-foot-9 small forward finished his senior year at Utah Prep last season and is now headed to the BYU Cougars.
Dybantsa, who has a $3.8 million NIL value (per On3), started his journey at St. Sebastian High School in Needham, Massachusetts. He showed signs of promise in eighth grade when he scored 23 points against IMG Academy.
The famous basketball page SLAM High School posted some highlights from the game on Thursday, which were reshared by Dybantsa on his Instagram story.
"dayum youngin," he captioned his story.

The original post featured some of the reactions that the hoops fans shared in the comment section after watching his performance.
"Nahhh 😂😭 Comment section was bugging when AJ dropped 23 on IMG as an 8th grader 🔥 @aj.dybantsa," the post was captioned.
"He look draft eligible," a comment read.
Another user commented, "That man got a 800$ car payment due on the 30th ftym."
"this guy probably drove to the game and his kids are in the crowd bruh," read another comment.
In another video posted by AJ Dybantsa in April, he answered some questions, including the craziest comment he read on social media. He talked about the same game.
"When I was in eighth grade playing varsity, I had like 23 against IMG and they were like, 'He got wife and kids at the crib," Dybantsa said.
Since then, the Brockton native has had plenty of high-scoring games. He was also a part of the prestigious McDonald's All-American Game, where he finished as the second-highest scorer behind Kansas Jayhawks signee Darryn Peterson and also played in the Nike Hoop Summit twice.
AJ Dybantsa gives his take on head coach Kevin Young's 4-point line training method
While the game of basketball does not have a four-point line, it is something that BYU coach Kevin Young instilled in the training facility. In a video posted by "Bleacher Report Hoops" on Wednesday, Dybantsa talked about the setup.
“There’s no four-point line in basketball, but this court is special cause it’s got the four-point line,” he said.
He also stated that the innovation helps the players increase their range and to get the momentum to step into the NBA and college line (while pointing towards the three-point line).
AJ Dybantsa will be joined by Xavion Staton and Chamberlain Burgress next season.
