On June 23, 2025, fans of BTS’ SUGA were deeply moved after a blog post went viral. The blog was reportedly a preview from K-pop producer El Capitxn’s upcoming essay collection, We’re Still in the Interlude. The essay reflects on the producer’s emotional journey from idol to acclaimed hitmaker. It includes several personal mentions of SUGA that have since gone viral on social media.

In the preview, El Capitxn revealed that during a difficult period of transition, after leaving his idol life behind and struggling to find direction, he found himself unable to be comforted by anything or anyone. However, he described the track Snooze as a song that could have given him the comfort he lacked back then.

He also recalled the moment SUGA invited him to appear on his talk show, Suchwita, which prompted him to reflect deeply on his past, his voice, and his unfinished story. Though he had let go of his dreams of singing, his conversation with Yoongi reminded him of the people who still waited for his voice.

While he declined the BTS star's earlier offer to join HYBE, the friendship remained close. El Capitxn remembered how the Snooze artist offered personal support. He told him to fix his throat first if he ever wanted to sing again and promised to back him up no matter the cost.

According to the producer, that wasn’t a superstar talking, but his real friend, Min Yoon-gi.

"I like hearing you sing. If you're going to keep singing, fix your throat first. I'll cover any costs. that wasn't BTS's SUGA speaking-it was my friend, Min Yoongi," El Capitxn quotes the rapper's words.

During El Capitxn’s appearance on Suchwita in 2024, the two opened up about how their friendship began while navigating personal lows. El Capitxn was also a collaborator and DJ on Suga's "Agust D TOUR 'D-DAY'". He appeared on stage with Suga during the tour.

That episode also revealed an inside joke El Capitaxn often shares. He revealed that he sometimes calls SUGA his “dad.” Explaining the joke, he said that while his biological father raised Jang I-jeong, it was SUGA who helped shape the version of him known as El Capitxn.

"I always said this to you, but you practically made me. I even said to my dad. 'You're the one who raised Jang Yi-jeong, but Yoongi is the one who raised EL CAPITXN'. So you're my second dad," he said to Yoongi on the show.
