On Friday, November 29, the new episode of The Seasons: Lee Youngji’s Rainbow came out on the KBS2 network, featuring BLACKPINK’s Rosé as the guest. During the show, Rosé talked about the making of her song APT in collaboration with Bruno Mars.

While speaking to the host, Lee Youngji, Rosé referred to Bruno Mars as ‘tsundere’ when she explained the playful yet caring side of the American singer. She revealed how Bruno Mars jokingly told her to call him “crazy” when asked about him. She humorously described Bruno as someone you’d want to playfully “ugh” but are always thankful for.

“Bruno is a tsundere,” Rosé said.

Tsundere is a Japanese phrase referring to a character who initially has a harsh disposition but gradually warms up and becomes nicer.

BLACKPINK’s Rosé supporters were ecstatic when she mentioned Bruno Mars and discussed her relationship with him. As a result, her fans poured the internet with their admiration for them. Echoing this sentiment, one X user stated:

On November 22, the BLACKPINK member and Bruno Mars collected the Global Sensation Award at the 2024 MAMA Awards for their latest duet, APT. The two singers also gave their first live performance on their new track at the awards event.

BLACKPINK’s Rosé’s song APT debuted on October 18, 2024, as the pre-release track of her upcoming independent album, Rosie. The full Rosie album will be released on December 6, 2024.

During the latest talk show, BLACKPINK’s Rosé said that she had suggested three songs to Bruno Mars, including APT, despite general opposition from her team. Following this, Bruno Mars expressed interest and inquired about Rosé’s song APT. Upon realizing the song was based on a drinking game, Bruno Mars decided to collaborate on it.
