Just a day after BTS’ Taehyung was discharged from the military, the Cartier Santos-Dumont watch he wore during his return ceremony was completely sold out on Cartier’s official website. Priced at USD $13,500, the luxurious timepiece caught immediate attention when Taehyung was spotted wearing it on June 10, 2025, the day both RM and V completed their 18-month military service.
Fans could not help but joke among themselves, saying that V’s fans must be seriously rich to snap up such an expensive item so quickly. The moment showcased Taehyung’s influence.
"His impact is insane, sold out king indeed!" one fan said.
Cartier even sent a rose bouquet to V to honor his discharge. This gesture was seen as a sign of the brand’s loyalty and admiration towards him. More fan comments discussed his influence.
"He has still got IT!!!" a fan remarked.
"Everything he touches turns into a trend," a fan made a statement.
"He’s so powerful," a fan coined.
Some other fans made creative comments.
"He is a super hot commodity! Everyone would be lucky to have him wearing their brands…" a fan stated.
"I don’t get surprised anymore, his magical touch!" a fan exclaimed.
"You will never see this for another idol, sorry. they just were waiting so badly for V," another fan remarked.
Taehyung attracts brands after mere discharge from the military
BTS’ Taehyung has been serving as a global brand ambassador for Cartier since July 2023, originally chosen as the face of the Panthère de Cartier campaign. His visuals led to multiple viral campaigns that only deepened his connection with the luxury house.
Over time, the relationship between V and Cartier has blossomed into something far more meaningful than just endorsements. Even during his military enlistment, the brand remained closely connected.
In a thoughtful gesture, Cartier sent personalized lunchboxes to the star's base in June 2024, personally delivered by Aaron Kang, the brand’s Marketing & Communications Director in Korea. The meals were specially crafted by Cartier’s food consultant Song Paryu, keeping in mind the physical demands and dietary needs of an enlisted soldier.
Later, HypeAuditor named Taehyung the most influential Asian celebrity in the world in their August 2024 global report. Out of 1,000 global figures, he ranked 8th overall, achieving this feat with just two brand deals: Cartier and Celine.
Now, following his official military discharge on June 10, 2025, both brands once again showed their support by sending several gifts and floral arrangements, which Taehyung gratefully shared with fans on social media.
Since his return, V has been one of the most active BTS members on Instagram, sharing glimpses of his post-military life.
His followers are thrilled to see him back in action, with many expressing hopes for more music, appearances, and creative work now that he has resumed his full-time idol duties.
