In a tribute to BTS' Jimin, fans in Myanmar have launched a philanthropic project to mark his upcoming military discharge. On June 9, 2025, it was reported that his Myanmar fanbase had constructed eight traditional-style houses in the Inle region for families affected by the recent devastating earthquake.
The initiative, titled “Welcome Home,” honors Jimin’s return by giving others a place to call home. The fan club personally selected families living below the poverty line as recipients, ensuring that the aid reached those in most urgent need.
The houses were built in just one month, a feat that has drawn admiration both locally and globally. Each house features thoughtful details, including calico cat decorations, a nod to symbols often associated with warmth, comfort, and good fortune.
This act of generosity mirrors Jimin’s own long-standing commitment to charity. Known for his quiet but impactful donations to causes ranging from education to disaster relief, the fans’ gesture feels like a natural extension of his values.
As of today, all 8 families have officially moved into their new homes. The project has gone viral on X, with netizens around the world applauding the fans’ compassion and dedication. Fans described it as a "beautiful" example of using fandom for meaningful change.

Jimin's fans follow in his philanthropic footsteps
On March 28, 2025, Myanmar was rocked by a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake near its second-largest city, Mandalay. The disaster caused widespread destruction, leaving many families without homes. In response, BTS member Jimin's fans in Myanmar stepped up to help. They launched a housing project to rebuild lives in honor of their idol’s upcoming military discharge.
This gesture reflects on the BTS member’s continued commitment to helping others. In December 2024, he donated 30 million KRW to support underprivileged senior citizens in his hometown of Busan.
Just months earlier, in May 2024, he contributed 100 million KRW to the Gyeongnam Future Education Foundation to support scholarships for low-income students. Over the years, both Jimin and his father have quietly made several donations to support those in need.
Recognizing his ongoing efforts, ICON POLLS named the BTS star "The Face of K-pop" in May 2024 for his sincere dedication to making philanthropic efforts.
Jimin is scheduled to be discharged from the military on June 11, 2025, alongside fellow BTS member Jungkook. The two enlisted together under the South Korean military’s “buddy system” on December 12, 2023, a first for K-pop idols.
During his service, Jimin graduated top of his class during basic training and earned the Division Commander’s Award for Best Trainee. He was later deployed to the elite Artillery Fire Direction Center (FDC).
Jungkook, meanwhile, served as a cook in his unit, reportedly one of the most demanding roles in the military. Now, as both idols near their return, ARMYs around the world are eagerly anticipating their reunion and the future that lies ahead for the group.
