On December 4, 2024, a donation ceremony was held at the National Orphan School in Luang Prabang, Laos. Representing Hoshi at the event were his parents, alongside Yeom Ki-tak, the director of the Korea-Laos Education and Culture Center. Other attendees included the Director of the Luang Prabang Province Department of Education, officials from the Provincial International Cooperation Office, the school principal, faculty members, and around 100 students.

The orphanage students expressed their gratitude through a special performance they had prepared, which featured traditional Laotian dance and a heartfelt choir rendition of the Korean children's song "Spring in My Hometown." The donation is being used to construct new classrooms and improve essential facilities such as a girls' dormitory and a kitchen at the orphanage. These upgrades aim to provide a safer and more hygienic environment for the approximately 500 underprivileged students who previously struggled with outdated and inadequate infrastructure.

The newly built classrooms will be dedicated spaces for educational programs that support higher education and employment opportunities. Specifically, the classrooms will be utilized as Korean language, English, and computer labs.

The SEVENTEEN star shared his thoughts on the donation, saying,

“I wanted to contribute to ensuring that these children grow up healthy and happy. In the future, I will continue to repay the warm love and support I have received by sharing and helping those in difficult situations.”

This is not the first time the idol has made a donation. In 2020, during the time of COVID-19, Hoshi donated 50 million won (42,694 USD) to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, providing adequate quarantine supplies to those unable to afford them. In the years 2020 and 2021, he donated multiple times and helped people in need during the challenging times of the pandemic.

Hence, this recent and meaningful act of generosity by Hoshi has also been met with admiration and gratitude from both local and international communities.
