The upcoming holiday movie A Cinderella Christmas Ball will premiere on November 29 on Great American Family (GAF). Directed by Don McBrearty, the film stars Danica McKellar, Niamh Carolan, and Oliver Rice. The screenplay is written by Marcy Holland and Danica McKellar.
The story follows Chelsea Jones, a Chicago-based dance instructor and studio owner, who is on a journey to the European country of Havenshire during her Christmas break. Chelsea is searching for clues about her heritage after discovering an old photo that she believes depicts her late birth mother and possibly her father.
During her trip, Chelsea finds herself sneaking into a castle, teaching a reluctant prince how to dance, and uncovering family secrets. 1) Danica McKellar as Chelsea Jones
McKellar takes on the role of Chelsea Jones in the TV movie. She is known for her breakout role as Winnie Cooper in The Wonder Years (1988) at 12 years old. McKellar began her acting career alongside her sister, the actress Crystal McKellar, performing in their mother’s dance studio before appearing in shows like The Twilight Zone (1985).
In A Cinderella Christmas Ball, Chelsea, a dance instructor, discovers an old photo she believes features her late birth mother and possibly her father. The image, dated December 23, 1984, includes a handwritten note referencing the small European country of Havenshire. Determined to uncover her roots, Chelsea travels to Havenshire with a few clues and four days to solve the mystery of her birth family.
2) Oliver Rice as Prince Phillip
Rice stars as Prince Phillip. Known for his roles in Firefly Lane (2021), Riverdale (2017), Altered Carbon (2018), and Chesapeake Shores (2016), he brings his acting experience to this royal role.
Born in North Wales and raised in London, Rice initially studied law before pursuing acting and graduated from The Oxford School of Drama in 2005.
In the film, Prince Phillip is a modern take on the classic Cinderella prince. Chelsea must teach the reluctant royal how to dance and help him rediscover the magic of the season. Irish-born actress Carolan plays Elizabeth Kent in A Cinderella Christmas Ball. She trained at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London before relocating to Toronto in 2017 to further her acting career.
Carolan is known for her lead role in the feature film Wintertide (2023) and appearances in series such as Murdoch Mysteries (2008) and American Gods (2017). She also produced and starred in the short film Elephant Sheets (2020).
