LongLegs director Osgood Perkins has been in the limelight since the release of his occult horror film on July 12, 2024. The film revolves around the story of an FBI agent as she uncovers the identity of a serial killer who has been terrorizing and murdering innocent families. The story explores a supernatural religious element of evil that gives the film its scary ending.
Osgood Perkins has another indirect connection with horror films. He is the son of the famous actor Anthony Perkins. You may remember his iconic role as Norman Bates in the film Psycho, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. The murder thriller has gone on to become a cult classic in film circles.
Osgood 'Oz' Perkins has also acted in many films before his direction venture, including a minor role as Dorky David in Reese Witherspoon's Legally Blonde.
Is Osgood Perkins the son of Anthony Perkins?
Osgood Perkins is the eldest son of actor Anthony Perkins. He was born in Manhattan to Anthony and his wife, photographer Berry Benson. He also has a younger brother, Elvis Perkins, who is a musician.
While Anthony Perkins has had a long and successful career, he is most famous for his role as the villain Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock's cult classic Psycho. Osgood also played a young Norman in Psycho II. It seems fitting that his son, Osgood, is now the director of LongLegs, a horror murder mystery. The film has received much appreciation from critics during its exclusive pre-release screenings as well.
