Harry Potter actor Warwick Davis is mourning the loss of his wife, Samantha Davis, who passed away on March 24. The latter was 53 years old at the time of her passing. The cause of death was not made public at the time of writing this article.

For those uninitiated, Warwick Davis is best known for being the protagonist of the 1988 hit, Willow. He has since starred in numerous movies, including Leprechaun, Life’s Too Short, Star Wars: Episode I- The Phantom Menace, and The Chronicles of Narnia, among others.

Samantha Davis has appeared on screen in numerous projects as well, including Through the Dragon’s Eye, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, and Leprechaun 2, amongst others.

In an exclusive statement to the BBC, Warwick Davis said recently:

“Her passing has left a huge hole in our lives as a family… I miss her hugs.”

Speaking about her “unique character,” Davis also said that she was “always seeing the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes.”

He went on to add that Samantha was his “most trusted confidant” and that she supported him throughout his career.

Samantha Davis founded Willow Management in 1995 alongside her husband, Warwick Davis

In 1995, Samantha Davis and her husband founded the Willow Management company. The organization aims to raise awareness about casting “short actors in big roles” as per their official website.

The company was opened just four years after the couple got married.

In 2012, they went on to co-found Little People UK, an organization that provides support to those with dwarfism. The registered charity, which has over 200 members, also includes “highly respected Orthopaedic, Ophthalmic, Neurological and Anaesthetic consultant surgeons.”

In 2022, Warwick Davis exclusively told People magazine that he and his wife were brought closer after the passing of their firstborn son, who died due to complications from the dwarfism gene that he had inherited from both of his parents. Speaking about the same, Warwick said:

“I think it brings you closer together. But it’s an experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone… Eventually, over time, you’re able to better understand why it happened and can come to terms with it a bit more. But you never get over it.”

The siblings also said in a statement to the BBC that their mother’s “love and happiness” were with them throughout their lives. They also described her as their “best friend” and expressed gratitude for receiving her love.

As mentioned prior, the official cause of death was not made public at the time of writing this article. Nonetheless, Warwick revealed to the BBC that Samantha’s mobility had been impaired in recent years, although she did not let it “impact her quality of life.”
