Milla Jovovich is reminiscing her times with her co-star Bruce Willis on the The Fifth Element set. The science fiction hit will celebrate its 27th anniversary on May 7, a fact that Jovovich finds unbelievable. In an interview with PEOPLE, she revealed her delight and reported,

"I can't believe I'm at that point!"

The actress and musician is reaching a milestone of almost 30 years in her professional career. Thinking about her early career days, Jovovich reflected on her "special moments" with Willis, 69. The Breathe star recounted that on her sets, she was more friends with Willis's ex-wife, Demi Moore, and their three daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah. This would mean that Jovovich would often "babysit" them.

"I was like an older sister."

Milla Jovovich continues to share a happy relationship with Willis and his family. She also praised Bruce Willis's extended family and his daughters.

"They have such a great relationship with Demi, and I love that. I look at them as a family unit, and I just think it's really wonderful what they've created."

The Fifth Element hit screens in 1997 and Milla was widely recognized for her iconic bandage look as LeeLoo. She played a unique character, a humanoid embodiment, someone who was never seen before. Milla Jovovich was 19 when the movie was shot and Willis was 42. Even with the age gap, Milla remains grateful for starring opposite Willis.

"It would have to be one of those shining moments in my life."

In an interview with Vogue, Milla recalled being invited by the director, Luc Besson, for a screen test and being selected for the role.

"I can't even describe how happy I was. This was really a dream come true."

The sci-fi movie also starred Chris Tucker, who played the role of deejay Ruby Rhod. In an interview with PEOPLE in November, Chris also recalled his times at the set. He reported that he experienced "great, great times" with Milla Jovovich and Bruce Willis.

Even after 27 years, Milla Jovovich cherishes her time working in The Fifth Element. Additionally, she continues to be a fan of her then co-actor Bruce Willis, and shared kind words for him and his family. Milla Jovovich's recent project, Breathe, was released on April 26, 2024. The actress is starring with Jennifer Hudson, Quvenzhané Wallis, Common, Raúl Castillo, and Sam Worthington.
