Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is all set to take us into a new era where apes are the rulers and humans are mere survivors. This will be the fourth film in the franchise, however, it won't feature any of the characters from the previous films because the plot is set in the distant future. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes picks up many generations after Caesar delivered his people to the promised land. The ape civilization is living in peace while humans are hunted by them as they have regressed to a primitive state. Within this, viewers will find the young ape Noa, played by Owen Teague, who will be the new protagonist going forward.

The ape civilization is now led by Proximus Caesar, who has just assumed the great name and twists the great leader's teaching into something pervasive to rule over his apes. This leads Noa to go on a journey with a special human known as Mae to determine the future of apes, and learn his true history as well.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is penned by Josh Friedman and directed by Wes Ball. Actor Owen Teague will be joined by Freya Allen, Kevin Durand, William H. Macy, and more.

The sci-fi action film is scheduled to release in theaters on May 10, 2024.
