American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey recently opened up about her tour manager quitting only a few days before her headlining Coachella set. She also thanked the artists who performed with her.

On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, the 38-year-old posted a lengthy caption with a carousel of pictures from her Coachella event last weekend. While thanking several staff members, she praised Emily, for stepping in after former tour manager, Peter Abbott left. The singer said:

"Emily for stepping up as tour manager when Pete quit for no reason after 15 years because he was butt hurt that I got 10 comped bikes for free from Wally and randomly decided he was more of a stage designer than a tour manager... Never got a phone call probably never will."

Lana was referring to stunt actor, Wally Crowder in her message, who helped choreograph her motorcycle entrance.

Lana Del Rey says her tour manager quit 37 days before Coachella

Lana Del Rey was the headliner of Coachella's first day on April 13, 2024. She took to Instagram on Wednesday to reflect on her performance and thanked many people who had a hand in her set.

She mentioned several key players, including her fans, her band, Wally Crowder, along with special guests Billie Eilish, Jon Batiste, and Jack Antonoff.

Lana Del Rey also said that her tour manager Peter Abbott quit after working with her for 15 years. He allegedly left merely 37 days before the big show, and another team member, Emily was assigned on short notice. The singer then sarcastically quipped:

"Still grateful for the 15 years though. No worries – 37 days was more than enough time to put together an entire headlining set all by ourselves. Not stressful at all. Way to go Emily you f*cking killed it with grace."

Lana Del Rey's Coachella performance this weekend comes a decade after she last sang at the festival. In 2020, the Video Games singer was previously scheduled for a prime Coachella spot back, but that year the festival was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Lana seemingly joked about Peter quitting, later on in the caption, saying:

"Thank you to my managers Ben and Ed for making me laugh the entire way through everything for my whole freaking life even though none of it ever makes any sense. PS- Please send me an email If you decide to quit this year- 15 years is a long time for us too."

The singer revealed that there was another challenge that she had to overcome during the weekend. Lana said that she had been suffering from laryngitis ahead of the show and that it cleared "just a few hours" before she went on stage.

The Instagram post also included photos and rehearsal footage of the show. She added images of her posing with background singers and dancers, and also some backstage pictures of Del Rey, Batiste, and Antonoff.

The first photo of the post was from the viral duet stage of Lana Del Rey with Billie Eilish. They sang Billie's 2016 song Ocean Eyes and Lana's famous track Video Games from her 2012 studio album Born to Die. She concluded her lengthy post by teasing her next performance and said:

"I’ll see you again real soon."

Lana Del Rey is scheduled to return to the stage on Friday, April 19, 2024, for round 2 of her headling job in Coachella. The venue is in Indio, California, and several artists including, Ice Spice, Blur, J Balvin, the Creator, and Doja Cat, among others, are set to perform.
