After Drake filed a petition against Universal Music Group and Spotify for allegedly conspiring and wrongfully boosting Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us, popular DJ and rapper, Funk Flex has sided with the Canadian rapper, and slammed Lamar. Posting on X, Funk Flex stated that he feels that “Drake is 100% right.” The rapper said:
“Drake is 100% right. National play! (per song) Drake don’t $ for play! Pop/ CHR Radio: $350k. Urban Radio: $250K, Mix Show: $100K. Local Mixshow Director: $40K. Local DJ: $3K-5K per song! (DJs on the radio 5 days a week) This is why independent artists don’t rise to the top! All you artists know I ain’t never take a dime from you, your manager or your labels! (Bomb has no price)"
As soon as the post by Fun Flex siding with the rapper went viral on social media, multiple netizens began reacting. An X user, @SaycheeseDGTL posted the screenshot of the same on the platform, and another user responded to the post by commenting:
“Funk Flex is a known West Coast hater anything he perceives as dissing the West or a artist from the West he will side with.”

More about Drake’s petition against Universal Music Group and Spotify explored
On Monday, November 25, 2024, Drake submitted a petition to the New York Supreme Court accusing Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify of working together to promote Kendrick Lamar’s diss track, Not Like Us. He alleged that the two companies intentionally reduced the visibility of his music to boost streams for Kendrick’s tracks.
In his lawsuit, the rapper also claimed that UMG used AI tools and bots to artificially increase the audience for Kendrick’s music on Spotify and various radio platforms. According to him, this strategy helped Not Like Us achieve record-breaking success and secure the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
In addition, Drizzy accused UMG of collaborating with Apple to redirect Siri users who requested his songs to play Not Like Us instead. His legal team argued that inflating the track’s streams ultimately benefited Universal Music Group. However, it is worth noting that the petition filed by the rapper should not be confused with a lawsuit.
For the unversed, Kendrick Lamar dropped his diss track aimed at Drake, Not Like Us, on May 4, 2024. The track was part of a series of back-and-forth diss songs exchanged by the two artists. Upon release, it dominated the charts worldwide and went on to win several awards, including at the BET Hip Hop Awards.
On the other hand, Drizzy also released his share of diss tracks targeting Kendrick Lamar, like Taylor Made Freestyle, Push Ups, Family Matters, and many more. Lamar also responded to the tracks by releasing Meet the Grahams, Euphoria, and 6:16 in LA.
