On Monday, June 9, 2025, an X handle @DailyNoud posted that the ticket prices of Kendrick Lamar and SZA's upcoming shows in Toronto have dropped to $20. The X post comes as the artists are set to wrap the US leg of their tour in Detroit's Ford Field on Tuesday and travel to Canada to perform in Toronto's Rogers Centre on two consecutive nights this week, on June 12 and 13.
Despite the viral tweet, the news of the ticket prices of Grand National Tour's Toronto shows dropping to $20 is false. As visible on the tour's verified ticket-selling platform, Ticketmaster, the cheapest tickets for the June 13 show are still priced at $183.43, with the most expensive selling $836 apiece.
Besides, the post was made by Daily Noud, an account that claims to share "parody hip-hop news" and "fake stories" in its bio and is, therefore, not to be trusted as a genuine source of information.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA's co-headlining tour is currently in its third month and will kick off its European leg in the coming month, starting from Germany's Cologne on July 2.
Meanwhile, many of Drake's fans from Toronto are seemingly unhappy about Lamar's tour coming to Drizzy's hometown and are allegedly planning an "OVO takeover" outside the concert venue, Rogers Center, on June 12 and 13.
A screenshot attached to a community post shared on X earlier on Tuesday, June 10, reveals the details of the alleged takeover, where Drizzy's fans plan to celebrate "the legend" by playing his old and new songs on loudspeakers. The post also promises free pizza and OVO hoodies for fans who attend the takeover.
Kendrick Lamar bagged five wins at the 2025 BET Awards
Besides his upcoming Toronto shows, Kendrick Lamar also made headlines this week because of his lead at the 2025 BET Awards last night. The event, hosted at Los Angeles' Peacock Theater on Monday, June 9, saw the Poetic Justice rapper taking home four awards, including:
- Album of the Year for GNX
- Video of the Year for Not Like Us
- Best Collaboration with SZA for Luther
- Video Director of the Year (with Dave Free)
- Best Male Hip-Hop Artist
In his award acceptance speech, Kendrick Lamar spoke about why the recognition he has gained is extra special to him. He said onstage:
"I ain’t been here in a long time, but I always kept it in my heart. BET always makes sure its representing the culture right. I’ll always give my heart to BET."
Lamar also expressed his gratitude to God, his teammates from PGLang, and then gave a nod to SZA, saying:
"SZA in the crowd, we on tour right now, please come to the show."
Before Kendrick could walk off stage, host Kevin Hart stopped him by giving him the other four trophies he had won that night, with the United in Grief rapper struggling to carry them all off the stage.
This isn't the first time Kendrick Lamar has taken the trophy home for the Album of the Year at the BET Awards. Seven years ago, in 2018, his fourth studio album, DAMN., also bagged the award, before going on to win the Pulitzer Prize.
