Kendrick Lamar has allegedly reacted to Drake reportedly firing shots at him during his appearance at a Kick livestream with Canadian streamer xQc. K Dot and Drizzy have been a part of one of the most infamous feuds in hip-hop history, which saw the release of chart-topping diss tracks like Not Like Me, Family Matters, etc.
Last weekend, Drizzy appeared on xQc's Kick livestream and introduced himself as:
“I’m here — mind, body and soul fully intact, in case you were wondering. You need facts to take me out; fairytales won’t do it.”
The unusual introduction is seemingly a reference of Kendrick Lamar's diss tracks in which the rapper accuses Drake of allegedly fathering a secret child, behaving inappropriately with young girls, and signing s*x offenders to his record label.
A report by the NFR Podcast on X shared Kendrick Lamar's alleged reaction to Drake's words at the xQc livestream. It released a screenshot of an alleged conversation with Lamar and a friend in which the Compton rapper was informed about Drake firing shots at him. He reacted by writing:
"He trippin??!"
While Drizzy didn't reference Lamar anywhere in the conversation, he seemed to throw shade at fellow artist The Weeknd. After xQc started playing The Weeknd's 2016 hit Starboy, Drizzy said:
"You’ve gotta switch this song, though. You have to switch this one. We’re the real Sixers, the real 6ix side. We don’t listen to that.”
Kendrick Lamar vs. Drake beef explained in brief
Drake and Kendrick Lamar are part of one of the most iconic beefs in the history of the hip-hop industry, which reached its climax in the middle of 2024.
In reality, the beef started back in 2013 when K Dot featured in Big Sean's Control and threw shots at Drizzy. However, he later clarified that the verses were intended to be construed as 'friendly competition.'
Fast forward to March 22, 2024, Kendrick Lamar dissed Drizzy and J. Cole in his track Like That after the two released First Person Shooter in 2023.
In the song, J. Cole claimed that he was a part of the "big three" featuring himself, Drizzy and Kendrick Lamar. Drizzy's reply came in April in the form of Taylor Made Freestyle and Push Ups.
However, the former had to be deleted from social media over copyright claims from Tupac Shakur's estate.
Lamar responded by releasing Euphoria on April 30 and 6.16 in L.A. on May 3. However, the feud reached its peak when Drake dropped Family Matters on May 3.
In the song, the Canadian rapper accused Lamar of alleged domestic violence and being estranged from his family.
K Dot's response came within an hour when he released Meet the Grahams, claiming that Drizzy had a secret child. Meet the Grahams is written as a letter with each verse being dedicated to one member of Drizzy's family. Lamar mentioned Drake's son Adonis, parents Sandra and Dennis Graham and his alleged secret daughter.
Kendrick Lamar followed it up with the chart-topping Not Like Us a day later. In the song, he elaborated on the claims made in Meet the Grahams.
Drake's reply came in the form of The Heart Part 6. In the track, Drizzy denied everything and claimed that his team had falsely fed Kendrick Lamar the information to sidetrack the Compton rapper. Things finally cooled down after The Heart Part 6.
However, some fans are expecting a reply from either party to restart the feud all over again.
