ScarLip has recently responded to the criticism that emerged from her twerking moves featured in the music video of the song, She's Hot. The rapper, who is 23 years old, shared a few glimpses captured on the set of the video through her Instagram page on June 9, 2024.

Also known as Sierra Lucas, she was spotted wearing a short outfit in the video alongside a few other women and all of them were flaunting their twerk moves. She wrote below the caption:

"Whewww shes hott out now link in bio."

While the clip received a negative response from the public, Lucas posted another video on Thursday, June 13 where she offered an apology to everyone. ScarLip started by saying that she is well aware of the problems that emerged due to the other video and added:

"I wanna say I apologize to all y'all and anybody I offended. I did not mean to. Now, I know everybody's like, 'No, we don't want you doing that'… I understand that, right? I'm not just out here just wilding."

Sierra was featured in the single, Take 'Em Out, last year and she also released two songs of her own that include This is New York and No Statements.

As mentioned, ScarLip shared a video through her Instagram page to address the controversy that emerged out of a clip she posted a few days ago. She said that she never intended to offend her fans and was not forced to do anything. She continued:

"I come up with these things in my head, these crazy ideas. I want you guys to grow with me. Don't put me in a box. I'm always gonna give y'all that street sh*t. I mean, I'm the best to do it, right? We all know that! So, like, don't worry about that, Imma always give y'all what's needed."

Lucas added that she would always showcase the skills where she is an expert and there is something inside her that "wants to come out." She additionally praised the entire team involved with the music video and said:

"I wanna say I appreciate Swizz Beatz and my label for allowing me to explore as an artist. Like, having creative freedom to just do what I want creatively."

Furthermore, ScarLip referred to She's Hot by saying that she wanted to create something that would bring summer vibes. She said she is expecting her fans to enjoy the single and added:

"I was just like, 'I wanna feel good this summer, lemme put some summer music out.' It is not crazy, it is still street."

The comments section was flooded with different responses, with a few people praising her for speaking directly to the fans. One of them stated that she never had to apologize for being herself followed by another who wrote that her apology has been accepted. Some fans also advised her to not repeat the same mistake.
