Recently, singer-songwriter Khalid found himself in deep waters after he was accused of several claims on X by one of his ex-boyfriends, Hugo D Almonte - an aspiring singer. The Heatstroke singer was accused of drug use, domestic violence, and even approaching s*x workers.
However, Khalid was prompt to acknowledge the accusations, as he slammed them by posting a video on X and Instagram stories on November 25, 2024, where he said:
“I feel like it is important for me to speak my side of the situation... I’ve never done cocaine a day in my life. I don’t place myself in those scenarios. I’m not in those surroundings. I smoke weed and I drink [alcohol] a little bit. But I’ve never done cocaine a day in my life. For real. Let's talk about this escorting thing. I've never paid for s*x a day in my life. Ever.”
Furthermore, Khalid mentioned that he and Hugo had been in a relationship four to five years ago. The 26-year-old, who has never been vocal about his sexuality in the past, was left shocked after his ex-boyfriend, Almonte, posted a picture of them together. While the post has now been deleted, Khalid took to X and responded to the rumors about his sexuality with a pride flag, as he wrote:
“There yall go. next topic please lol.”
“It’s triggering”: More explored as Khalid opened up and claimed that he last talked with ex-boyfriend Hugo 4 years ago
As the singer’s ex-boyfriend made several claims about him, Khalid also opened up about his relationship with Hugo and claimed that it has been 4 or 5 years since the two dated. In his video, he said:
“The last time I talked to this guy was 4 years ago. This is all random. I don’t know why he did it. I don’t know what’s wrong with him. Mental health is real. But, I haven’t even had a conversation or seen this dude in 4 years.”
He continued and admitted that the accusations have been “triggering” for him, as he claimed that the comments left him disturbed. The singer said:
“It’s triggering seeing a few comments [of] people painting me as if I’m some manipulative abuser. It’s just crazy to me."
He further opened up and spoke about the abuse, as he alleged:
“It’s triggering because it's the other way around, and that’s what hurts the most. I’m not gonna run around like I’m the best guy in the world... But yeah, all of this is definitely frustrating. I want all of this to be over like you all. This is literally why I don’t involve myself in any drama... I don’t like this. So I’m not gonna run around like I’m unbothered.”
Meanwhile, several fans also commented on how Khalid was keeping his sexuality a secret, to which the singer responded and wrote:
“I got outted and the world still continues to turn. Let’s get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality it ain’t nobodies business! But I am okay with me. Love yall.”
