The Recording Academy has recently revealed the details about the next Grammys set to be taking place on February 1, 2026. According to Variety, the award show will happen at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, the nominations for the same will be announced on November 7, 2025.
Notably, the Recording Academy has also made an announcement introducing some new categories. For starters, there will not be the Best Country Album category in the next Grammys, and instead, Best Contemporary Country Album and Best Traditional Country Album will be introduced.

According to Rolling Stone, a new category called the Best Album Cover award will be present this time. This news particularly gained massive traction online. Netizens flooded social media platforms like X with their reactions to it. One user (@artificialkp7) wrote on the platform:

As aformentioned, the Recording Academy has released a set of rules for the 2026 Grammys to be held next year. As far as the first rule is concerned, the eligibility period is between August 31, 2024 and August 30, 2025. While the first round of voting is set to happen in October, the final one will happen during the period from December 2025 to January 2026.
The rules booklet consists of a number of other rules including the required number of nominations for certain categories. While in categories like the Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, and Album Of The Year, the number is eight, for other categories like Producer Of The Year and Songwriter Of The Year, the number is five.
Talking about all the rules surrounding the Grammys, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. opened up in a statement as reported by Rolling Stone. The statement read:
"It's so important that our rules and guidelines are fair and equitable for musicians of all crafts and varying expertise, and that the Grammy Awards truly reflect and honor the full spectrum of music creators."
In order to make the guidelines fair to all musicians, an aformentioned distinction has also reportedly been created in the country music awards category. While the traditional country music will deal with the roots of the genre, the contemporary one will be more about a blend between country music and modern culture.
According to the Recording Academy, the 68th Grammys will be broadcasted live on the CBS Television Network. The award show will further be streamed live and on demand on Paramount+.
