Playboi Carti is trending online after the video of his iced lollipop went viral on different platforms. The clip was initially posted by the New York City-based jewellery designer Alex Moss on Instagram on June 10, 2025, and wrote in the caption,

“Strawberry Diamond Lollipop.”

The lineup included two videos, with one of them showing the overall look of the lollipop from all sides. There was also a photo of Playboi Carti holding the lollipop in his hand. The picture was seemingly captured outside an event venue.

The lollipop features white gold along with VVS diamonds and rubies. Notably, the lollipop was created for Carti’s performance at the BET Awards on June 9, 2025, as reported by Rap TV.

Meanwhile, the video of the lollipop was also shared by XXL Magazine on X. The post included another clip where Carti was spotted putting the lollipop in his mouth. Netizens took to the comments section to share their reactions to the artist’s new accessory, with one of them seemingly expressing his criticism, as he wrote,

“Such a colossal waste of money.”

The responses continued, with a user calling it a waste of rubies alongside another questioning if Playboi Carti would get some benefit due to the lollipop.

Playboi Carti performed some hit singles at the BET Awards 2025

As mentioned, the Atlanta, Georgia native appeared at the BET Awards this week. According to Billboard, Carti paid tribute to Lil Wayne on stage as he came to perform by wearing a colorful zip-up jacket alongside dark jeans. He also had the lollipop in his hand as he performed.

One of the tracks that Playboi Carti performed on stage includes Rather Lie, a collaborative single with The Weeknd. The single was released in March this year and featured in the soundtrack of Carti’s latest album, Music. Notably, the single left a positive impression on critics and climbed up to the fourth spot on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Apart from this, Carti additionally performed on other hit tracks from his new album, such as Like Weezy.

As per Vibe magazine, Playboi Carti’s album Music created headlines shortly after its release when Carti responded to a report related to the album’s sales by Billboard. Carti wrote in a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter) that Music sold almost 320,000 units in the first week compared to 298,000, which was previously claimed by Billboard.

With 30 singles in the soundtrack, Music reached the first spot on the US Billboard 200. Furthermore, rappers like Kendrick Lamar and Travis Scott made guest appearances. Music was released around five years after Carti's second album, Whole Lotta Red, which came out back in 2020.
